His current artistic practice lies at the intersection of bilingual dramaturgy and visual research on resilience, explored through the sophisticated use of miniatures, scale models, objects, puppets, toys, and shadow puppetry.Educated at the Escuela de Teatro de Xalisco and further refined through extensive professional training and specialized seminars in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and abroad, his background includes elite institutions such as HB Studio (NYC), The Actor’s Center (London), Odin Teatret (Denmark), The American Institute of Comedy, and The Magnet Theatre. He is the founder of El Trapo Teatro and served as Artistic Director of Por Piedad Teatro until 2025.Core Artistic Research & Original Work:Vega has established himself as a specialist in the adaptation of leading European and U.S. playwrights, creating a bridge between their dramaturgy and the Latin American context. He co-directed and starred in Roland Schimmelpfennig’s Winter Solstice—a pivotal production involving miniatures and objects—and directed the "total sold-out" run of Ferdinand von Schirach’s Terror. His work with such authors also includes performing in The Golden Dragon (Schimmelpfennig) and Abyss (Maria Milisavljević).Original Puppetry & Visual Theater:Django con la soga al cuello (Django in Pain): Author, Director, and Performer. Winner of two Metro Awards (Best Play 2024, Best Play in Video 2022) and chosen to open the 44th National Theater Showcase (MNT).Note: The project emerged during the pandemic as a "lockdown experiment" in a New York apartment. It was commissioned by The Play Company (PlayCo) and developed with the support of The Elysabeth Kleinhans Theatrical Foundation (59E59 Theaters). This work, which masterfully blends miniatures and shadow puppetry, originally began as a handcrafted film before evolving into a full-scale theatrical production in Mexico City.The Duchamp Syndrome: Solo show praised by The New York Times for its artistry in puppetry and toy theater.
